Apple is anticipated to host its annual iPhone announcement event during the week of September 8, 2025. The most likely dates being considered are September 9 or 10. This information comes from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who has tracked Apple’s historical patterns for product launches. Traditionally, Apple schedules its iPhone unveilings in the week following Labor Day in the United States.
In 2025, Labor Day falls on September 1, meaning the target window for the event is between September 8 and September 12. However, Apple typically avoids major announcements on Fridays, effectively ruling out September 12. The company has also steered clear of hosting events on September 11 in recent years. Therefore, the most plausible days for the event are Monday, September 8, Tuesday, September 9, and Wednesday, September 10, with Gurman suggesting that September 9 or 10 is most likely.
Gurman’s analysis is backed by a review of Apple’s event history over the last decade, showing that of the ten most recent iPhone launch events, five were conducted on a Tuesday and three on a Wednesday. Only one event was held on a Monday, further diminishing its chances despite being a possible option in 2025. Most fall iPhone events have taken place in the second week of September, with the exception being in 2020 when the pandemic-related production challenges pushed the event into October. At this year’s announcement, Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 17 line—comprising the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—as well as the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Typically, press invitations are sent out about a week prior to the event.
