Kuo Reveals iPhone 17: Ultra-Thin Design, A19 Chip, Single Rear Camera, and Semi-Titanium Frame – MacRumors

Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple supply chain analyst, has revealed anticipated specifications for the upcoming ultra-thin iPhone 17 model rumored to launch in 2025. According to Kuo, this new device is expected to feature a 6.6-inch display with a traditional Dynamic Island, a standard A19 chip, and a single rear camera. Additionally, it will include an Apple-designed 5G chip, and utilize a semi-titanium frame with a lower titanium content compared to the iPhone 15 Pro models. Notably, Kuo mentioned the absence of an iPhone 17 Plus model, suggesting that the ultra-thin iPhone 17 will not serve as a direct replacement.

Instead, it will introduce a completely new design, positioning itself as a unique option in the lineup, emphasizing aesthetics over specifications. With its lack of an A19 Pro chip, a single camera, and a slightly smaller display than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it appears this model may not be the highest-end variant in the series. As of now, it remains unclear where the ultra-thin iPhone will fit into the broader iPhone 17 lineup. As the official launch approaches, which is expected in September 2025, more information and insights are likely to surface regarding its market positioning and overall appeal.

This extended timeline allows for ample speculation around the features and innovations that Apple may include in its next generation of iPhones. In the meantime, Apple’s recent announcements during WWDC 2025 indicated significant system updates and new features across its platforms, showcasing the company’s continuous commitment to enhancing user experience and device functionality.
