Apple has included a hidden new ringtone in iOS 26, which is an alternative version of the Reflection ringtone. This particular tone has served as the default ringtone since the release of the iPhone X in 2017. Currently, this new ringtone can only be found within the code of the first developer beta of iOS 26, making it unavailable in the ringtone selection of the Settings app for the time being.
There is no confirmation if Apple plans to officially release this ringtone in subsequent beta versions of iOS 26. Recently, the ringtone was highlighted on social media by the account @8810cfw, with additional confirmation from MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, who suggested that it might debut with the upcoming iPhone 17 models later this year. In related developments, iOS 26 is expected to improve the process of setting audio files as custom ringtones, removing the need for the GarageBand app.
This update is anticipated to be available to all users by September. In the broader context of Apple news, Chase has recently introduced new perks for its Sapphire Reserve credit card, including complimentary subscriptions to Apple TV+ and Apple Music. Additionally, rumors are swirling about a refresh for the AirPods Pro, with hints of new features hidden in Apple’s code.
The upcoming foldable iPhone, often referred to as the “iPhone Fold,” is also generating buzz, particularly regarding its camera capabilities. Furthermore, Apple is expected to release the next-generation iPhone 17 lineup, along with the Apple Watch Ultra 3, later this year, as new details continue to emerge.
