Apple’s second-generation Vision Pro headset, featuring the M5 chip, may not be released until 2026, as reported by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. His insights, shared in the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter, suggest that the development of the M5 chip is currently active.
Gurman anticipates the headset’s launch could take place between the fall of 2025 and spring 2026. The first-generation Vision Pro headset, launched in 2022, utilizes the M2 chip.
By 2026, Apple’s more advanced M6 chips are expected to be on the horizon. A separate report from The Information indicated that the new Vision Pro might incorporate many stockpiled components from its predecessor, leading to only minor updates in physical design.
Gurman’s analysis also highlights Apple’s interest in the smart glasses market. The company has engaged its employees to assess consumer perceptions of products such as Snapchat Spectacles and Meta Ray-Bans.
There’s speculation that Apple could develop a glasses version of its popular AirPods, integrating smart technology into eyewear. In other news related to Apple, rumors suggest design changes may be coming to the next iPhone models, specifically in the Pro series.
The anticipated iPhone 17 Pro models might transition away from Apple’s traditional stainless steel and titanium frames to aluminum. Additionally, other product updates are on the way including refinements to iOS, with a public beta expected to be released soon.
As 2025 progresses, Apple appears poised for a busy launch schedule for various products, indicating an exciting year ahead for enthusiasts of the brand.
