Apple is in the process of refining iOS 26, and the recently released third beta introduces smaller adjustments compared to its predecessor, along with further enhancements to the Liquid Glass design. The tech giant is preparing for the next phase of beta testing, with a public beta scheduled for release in July. One noticeable change is the transparency adjustments in several applications, including Apple Music, Podcasts, and the App Store.
Apple has opted for more opaque navigation bars to enhance button visibility. In certain backgrounds, notifications are now darker, improving text readability, and similar transparency updates have been implemented in Safari. However, some users have expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that Apple is reducing the unique transparency features that characterize iOS 26.
In terms of aesthetics, new color options for the default “iOS” wallpaper have been added, introducing shades such as Halo, Dusk, Sky, and Shadow. The new wallpapers exhibit more vibrant color variations, especially noticeable in Dark Mode. Changes have also been made to the Control Center, where the blue and green hues for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirDrop, and Cellular toggles have been brightened to align better with the overall color scheme.
Additionally, in iPadOS 26, a new feature allows the mouse cursor to enlarge when shaken, similar to a functionality found in macOS. The Maps app now provides support for fog advisories when offline, while enhancements have been made to commute delay alerts. Furthermore, Safari’s folders interface has received minor design tweaks.
Lastly, Apple has addressed a bug that caused iPads connected to external displays to enter sleep mode during video calls. Overall, these updates reflect Apple’s commitment to the continuous improvement of its operating systems.
