Since updating to version 15.5, I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue with Safari. Occasionally, when I try to close the application by selecting Safari > Quit Safari from the top menu, the window freezes.
While I can still move the mouse, the window becomes unresponsive—I cannot scroll, minimize, or drag it around. I’ve attempted using keyboard shortcuts like Command + Q, but the window remains frozen.
Even trying to access the Apple menu to use the Force Quit option fails, as the menu doesn’t open. The only solution seems to be holding down the power button to shut down the computer and restart it.
This problem occurs at least once every few days. I attempted a fresh install of version 15.5, but the issue persists.
What’s particularly frustrating is that there doesn’t appear to be any specific pattern; it happens on various websites without warning. Is this a known bug?
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? I’m using a 15″ M4 MacBook Air with 512GB storage and 24GB of RAM.
I would appreciate any insights or solutions that might help resolve this issue.
