iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 introduce a new Wi-Fi feature that enhances connectivity for iPhone and iPad users. This improvement allows sign-in details for captive Wi-Fi networks to be synced across devices, making it easier to connect multiple Apple products to Wi-Fi networks that require login information. As highlighted by analyst Max Weinbach, this feature was experienced firsthand while he was staying at a Hilton hotel.
His iPhone prompted him to enter the Wi-Fi credentials already saved on his iPad, streamlining the process of accessing the network. Captive Wi-Fi networks, commonly found in locations such as hotels, gyms, and airports, typically necessitate users to fill out a form before they can connect. This update not only saves time but also simplifies the connectivity process across devices.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg initially reported on Apple’s plans to implement this feature. Although it was not unveiled during the WWDC 2025 keynote, further investigation revealed its presence in the iOS 26 developer beta code. Interestingly, it appears that the functionality is already active, suggesting users will benefit from this feature at its official release.
The anticipated launch of iOS 26 is set for September, and it promises to offer this new Wi-Fi option as part of its updates. In other news, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models are generating considerable buzz. Expected changes include a repositioned Apple logo and improved battery capabilities.
The iPhone 17 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max will feature the largest battery yet in an iPhone, a capacity of 5,000mAh. As Apple continues to innovate, these features solidify its standing in the competitive smartphone market.
