Open Safari in a New Tab – MacRumors Forums Discussion

Hello,

I recently wiped my iPhone and downgraded to iOS 18.5. Since making these changes, I’ve noticed a new behavior in the Safari browser. Specifically, when I tap “Open in New Tab,” it automatically takes me to that new tab right away. This is different from how it functioned previously, and I find it somewhat disruptive.

I’m reaching out to see if there’s any solution to change this behavior back to the way it used to operate. I prefer to remain on the current page until I manually switch to the new tab myself. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
